Take a look at www.Pauhi.com

Keone Nunes seems to be one of (if not the) most knowledgeable individuals around today on the subject of kakau. I have not spoken with him directly but did correspond briefly with one of his stretchers while doing my own research. He generally works out in Wai`anae but also travels to California from time to time. I have also heard, but not confirmed that Aesia (sp?) who also works on O`ahu has begun working with traditional tools

Aloha mai e Jeremy,
Tricia Allen, of Tattoo Traditions and author of "Tattoo Traditions of Hawai'i," might know. She does traditional tattooing, using modern equipment. But she almost certainly will know who the practioners are who are using traditional equipment. Email her at tattoo@lava.net. She does a lot of traveling and so may not answer quickly. Be patient!
